DisplayPort(DP) is a newly used digital display interface standard guided by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). DP was first approved on May 2006. The latest version 1.2 was released by VESA.
Displayport is defined as a new, high-definition digital audio/video interconnect for computing displays, graphic cards, and laptops.
With a 34% PCs market penetration forecast in 2010, Displayport is expected to replace DVI and VGA, or even the HDMI equivalent for computers systems.
